It's About Time...

Hey Big Happy Family! Considering its been over a month since the last post, I figured it was about time to add one about.... CANCUN, USA.
Cancun was alot of fun... especially since everyone was finally together again. (It's hard to get Joe away from his job.) We had a nice hotel right on the beach with a gorgeous view of the ocean. We went boogieboarding, saw sea turtles, haggled at flea markets, ate a lot of guacamole, had our nipples pinc
hed by a worker at Margaritaville, had fun with balloon hats and name tags at Senor Frogs, ate delicious Italian food at Dolce...mente, went "sky riding" (parasailing), snorkeled at some sort of natural amusement park, saw manatees at the same place, went cliff jumping, swam in an ancient Mayan swimming hole (nothing like the Beaver River swimming hole), taught Jackson how to blow bubbles in the pool, danced, got sunburned, learned how to do backflips in the water, got sick --thanks to Jackson--, drank a lot of (mango) margarita's at the pool, saw large lizards (iguanas?), rode on a lazy 'screaming' river (Jackson did not like this part of the trip, hence the 'screaming'), took many bus rides (some 2 hours long), saw Chichen Itza (one of the new 7 wonders of the world which consisted of Mayan Temples and Ruins and as Luke would say "The World's Biggest Dollar Store"), went on a romantic sunset dinner cruise (Amy and Mike), started and finished many books, broke our boogieboards, had to wait 7 hours for the hotel to deliver a crib (with no mattress), swam in the ocean, ate sand, had contests in the pool to see who could 'glide' the furthest, talked about where we would be in 10 years and where the next family vacation would be in 10 years, said Good Bye to Joe two days earlier (he left on Saturday, we left on Monday), sang Mexico by James Taylor, missed our flight home to Syracuse so that we had to stay over night in lovely Chicago, rejoiced to be back in New York, and had Tequila that leaked out of its bottle on the trip home. And that was only half of it I'm sure. All in all it was a great time. We're all glad we vacationed in Mexico, but we've all decided that we don't need to go back any time soon.

Don't forget-- July 27th is Mine and Kelly's Birthday Party at Cayuga Street around.. normal party time.

We also:
Bargained for handicrafts at Market 28, bought an excessive amount of headbands, went on nighttime sea turtle hunting excursions, went to the swim-up bar (Mike's first one!!), watched 3:10 to Yuma, made oatmeal with the coffee maker, found pretty seashells and sand dollars, got roughed up by waves trying to boogie board, saw Mexican kids dance with bottles on their heads, felt obligated to buy at least ONE hammock, felt wet every time we got into bed, and overall, had an absolutely fabulous time. It was so much fun being all together again with relatively little fighting and emotional scarring. And Maria can speak for herself. I'd be happy to go back to Mexico tomorrow.
