We love NY!

We love NY, but who doesn't? Autumn in the Finger Lakes is like none other in the world. This past weekend. A group of us headed to Bristol Mountain, as they host a small fall festival each weekend, including Skyrides to the top of the "mountain". The pics pretty much speak for themselves, but you know I can't resist being narrator. Enjoy!
Love, Kat

Owen and Sam took some of these photos. We all know how good they have become with a camera.

No words needed.

Owen pushes Emma on the swing. The kids played on the playground before taking the trip up the mountain.

Tia packed quite a "snack" for us. She pretty much bought out the cheese shoppe at Wegmans. I recommend the "chudder". We were guessing that it was some combo of Cheddar and something, at which Aunt Jill suggested, "udder". The adults ate, drank, and enjoyed the sun, while the kids played.

This was actually on our walk down the mountain. The wait to ride the chairlift up was about 30 minutes or so. Nobody ever took into account that if we wanted to ride the chair back down again that there would be another wait at the top. Also, since chair lifts aren't designed to carry people back down they only loaded every third chair down- the line at the top was long, so instead we chose to trek down the ski slopes. Even Emma rode the chairlift- they buckled her carseat in and off we went. Unfortunately, I don't have photos of that- Tia and Adam were in the chair infront of us and they have those pics. I will try to pass along later. Emma loved the ride. She definitely knew something strange was going on and that she was experiencing something new. She laughed and pointed at things.

Great photo opportunity here. The overlook was amazing. Aren't the Dickson's so photogenic?

Adam is our hero!!! Luckily, we were able to send Emma's carseat down the lift on an empty chair, but that meant that the adults had to take turns carrying Emma the 2-3 miles downhill. Adam carried her the majority of the way. I think it was Aunt Jill that called us, "Adam and his Haerum". It's weird to think that I actually ski down these hills in the winter.

Our little warriors. Cole and Sam had quite a make-believe adventure going on... Luckily, they found the rainbow warrior early on in this trek. I have no idea what that means, but they sure did have fun.

A photo of Adam's Haerum! Seriously, how beautiful is the scenery!

Emma and her boyfriend. Emma loved hanging with Adam. She loved the furry stuff on his face too. I think she's met her first love.

I wish you all could have rode the lift to see how amazing it was.

This is us, practically near the bottom. You can see that Owen is pretty ticked off. He fell earlier on and got a little more mad with each step. The lower section was difficult as it was not grassy. Bristol is currently re-surfacing this section, known to the skiers as Lower Infinity. So walking on gravel and dirt was not very fun and caused some minor mishaps, but come winter it will be smooth skiing.

The Skyrides continue at Bristol til I think the end of the month. If you have time I would suggest going. It was a lot of fun and so beautiful. We lucked out and had a sunny, warm day.

Ahh, chudder - a staple at all Barg celebrations for as long as I've known them. I always find it a little weird, but it's actually pretty tasty. And I'm really glad you guys walked Infinity. When Mike and I went to that little fall festival many years ago, we decided to walk down Lower Rocket (or is it Comet?). Surprisingly, it wasn't that great of an idea. It is actually a lot easier to get down that hill on skis than it is in sneakers. Sounds like you had a great time.
